Defending Freedom: 250 Years and Counting

This year our theme highlights the contributions of various nationalities, despite discrimination, genocide, slavery, and hardship, to the maintenance of America and its freedoms. From the Indigenous to the African Diaspora, our nation would not exist without the sacrifices of heroes and their descendants. Join us for the  cultural black-tie event and fundraiser of the year, as we celebrate legendary men and women of African Diasporic heritage as well as Asian, Indigenous, Hispanic, and Jewish communities across Alabama, Georgia, and Florida!

What makes the United States of America so glorious to our team is the genetic tapestry. From the golden threads of the indigenous, to the red threads of the children of the Transatlantic Slave trade, to the blue hues of immigrants from across the globe, all connected by the white threads, hope for freedom and acceptance. America, the beautiful and complicated, wouldn't be America without those who sacrifice for its existence and proudly preserve their culture.

We hope you enjoy incorporating the 250 theme into your 1865 attire with subtle or less subtle colors, and/or pieces that pay homage to the economic, artistic, literary, and social achievements of the African Diaspora, Indigenous, Latin American, and Asian peoples of the USA.
